Amidst the sorrow over the passing of legendary Japanese manga artist Akira Toriyama, the Dragon Ball series, deeply ingrained in the hearts of a generation, continues to be discussed and revisited. This unboxing of the *DRAGON BALL Super Art Book* is a must-have large-format art book!

First of all, the design of the art book's storage box is full of ingenuity. The bright orange color complements the 1990s Goku on the cover (with many other characters hidden on him), as well as the gold-stamped lettering and small Dragon Ball illustrations. I especially love the little Easter egg on the side of the box's opening, which is a circle of Dragon Ball character portraits.
The art book itself is hardcover, thick and sturdy. Its B5 size makes it easy to flip through without making the pictures look too small, providing a great viewing experience!
I quite like the design of the book cover, inside cover, and endpapers.

The book features a double-sided pull-out poster at the beginning, one side of which is an illustration handpicked by the author (mentioned in the interview at the end of the book, this work was the only piece that Akira Toriyama liked in the past 10 years, which is quite intriguing), and the other side is a special feature of selected magazine covers from the "Weekly Shonen Jump" serialization period.

The 240-page art book can be described as a chronicle, arranged chronologically and including various related illustrations from 1984, when "Dragon Ball" began serialization, to 2013. It also thoughtfully provides a brief introduction to the progress of the manga, anime, and publications at the time on each year's chapter page, allowing readers to feel as if they are following the story of Dragon Ball again along the timeline and growing up with the characters.

This book is filled with classic color illustrations from Dragon Ball, mostly sourced from magazine covers, title pages, fold-out posters, and bonus illustrations during the series, as well as illustrations from collected volumes, complete editions, related publications, and anime. It includes illustrations of all sizes, totaling a whopping 400 illustrations; occasional short comic strips and author's notes in bonus sections are also translated into Chinese.
The last year in the artbook is 2013, and it includes content up to the theatrical film "Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods".

The unboxing video I did beforeAkira Toriyama's Art Collection: THE WORLDThe book seems to include all the Dragon Ball-related illustrations that appeared in it!
Aside from the main illustrations, you can view the cover art of each series of collected volumes in the "ARCHIVE" section (as well as the author's different portrait for each volume XD), including: JUMP COMICS Volume 42, New Edition Volume 42, Complete Edition Volume 34, and Nekomajin series.
It also includes two author interviews interspersed with illustrations: one is a replica of the interview from the original collection, and the other is an interview from 2013.
Finally, there is a 14-page index of works plus explanations.

After reading through it, all I can say is that the book is full of touching details.
It's like stepping into a "Hyperspace Chamber," staying in the world of Dragon Ball! 🐉

Official Introduction
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of Dragon Ball's serialization, this book compiles a collection of the most memorable color illustrations from Dragon Ball, organized chronologically, allowing readers to witness the stylistic evolution of Akira Toriyama throughout the series' creation! The book also includes rare illustrations, such as fold-out posters from magazine appendices, artwork from the limited-edition DRAGON BALL CARD GAME, and color illustrations from the Nekomajin series. Furthermore, it features two special interviews with Toriyama, offering insights into his creative journey! Unlike Toriyama's "The World of Akira Toriyama" published 20 years ago, this book focuses solely on classic Dragon Ball color illustrations, but the selections are all powerful and iconic, making it a must-have for Dragon Ball fans!
