"The World of the Fantasy Street General Store" is a collection of works by Japanese illustrator Noriko Nishimura.

Noriko Nishimura and her younger sister, Yuki Nishimura, run the "Kudougai General Store" together.Online store + Physical stores located in Kichijoji and Yokohama, Japan. The older sister mainly creates hand-drawn illustrations of fantasy towns, while the younger sister transforms these images into physical general merchandise.

This art book presents the visual world behind those fantastic towns and objects in book form!

The art collection has 160 pages, is hardcover, and is very easy to browse and enjoy.

This collection compiles illustrations of fantasy towns drawn between 2010 and 2024, spanning eight thematic chapters: Towns of the Sky, Towns of the Night, Towns of the Ocean, Towns of the Forest, Towns of the Earth, Towns of Food, Fantasy Cities, and Fantasy Rooms. It presents a vast and imaginative world! 🌃

There are many impressive towns—the Green Ancient City, the Town of Mint Chocolate, the Town of Clocks, the Kingdom of Stationery, the Kingdom of Forgotten Books…

Besides the town illustrations themselves, the collection also includes details such as transportation and architectural designs. 🚀

Each chapter concludes with a small column featuring various content, including artworks created before the establishment of the "Fantasy Street General Store," related merchandise, and more. There were no bustling vehicles, only neatly arranged rows, like the living quarters of the child soldiers in a nutcracker.
Or, in a forest full of autumn colors, where only orange hues are present, it is an autumn kingdom where autumn lasts all year round.

▹Town in the Sky

The sky is filled with all sorts of strangely shaped spaceships, some from ancient times, weathered by the ages and now existing like nations, and others decorated in a steampunk style, resembling fish-like airships.

Town at night

The civilization of the night reigns supreme over the starry night sky, using the Milky Way as its canvas to construct glass cities; astronomers escape the hustle and bustle of the present world, observing the starry night alone in their secluded dwellings.

▹ Town by the Sea

In ocean-themed towns, there are bound to be strangely shaped fish. The back of a giant whale is the best place to live, and there are also places that look like a lighthouse from afar, but are actually a town up close.

▹ Forest Town

Fairy gardens, autumn kingdoms, mushroom-lined old streets in dark forests, lavender towns... Whether it's plants or food, they can all grow freely here according to color schemes and varieties.

Towns of the Earth

Like city ruins stretching across a desolate landscape, they exude an air of adventure. There are civilizations where the entire city is made of windmills, with the wind blowing at all times, and there are mineral metropolises that shimmer like the universe.

▹ Food Town

In the world of food, even the buildings become colorful and delicious. Do you prefer strawberries or chocolate? Living there, even the living things would probably become sweet! But there are also towns hidden deep behind cafe counters, serving delicious coffee 24/7!

▹ A Fantasy City

This world has everything, such as towns with only one color, or fortress-like kingdoms built by stationery. There are also mysterious towns themed around Kichijoji, where swans carry the Inokashira Forest and the Kichijoji district in the air.

▹ A Room of Fantasy

It's a collection of fantasy rooms within a fantasy town, or fantasy towns that extend from those rooms. Sounds interesting, right? Of course, the attic room might even have a mouse kingdom—this is how an imaginative child sees the attic room, so don't be too surprised.
