Dorohero is a manga series by Japanese manga artist Kyu Hayashida, serialized from 2000 to 2018. The series blends action, gore, fantasy, magic, the bizarre, and dark humor, with a captivating world-building, character development, and various fantastical settings that can easily draw you into Dorohero's chaotic world.

Chang Hong Publishing House in Taiwan has already released a complete set of 23 books.Comic Collector's EditionIt's worth collecting. The work was released in 2020.AnimatedI highly recommend starting with the anime version! 😈

This time, I'm unboxing the "Dorohedoro Character Directory Complete Edition," published in 2018 to commemorate the completion of the manga!

The exterior is vermilion, and the cover illustration continues the bizarre style of the "Strange Beasts of the Demon City".

The book title page is followed by a flat image of the protagonist, Cayman, as a paper doll. You can photocopy it to dress him up (🤣). It should be made into a bonus item!

The book is concise and well-organized.

The content includes a complete list of characters. The first section features characters in color, one per page (not necessarily people), including illustrations, basic information, masks, and even a pie chart of their inner thoughts 🤣. The most useless information is probably their shoe size (X). The second section is in black and white, two per page, with a brief introduction and information. Some bizarre characters and plot settings are included (the dumpling guy is everywhere). Almost everyone you can name is included.

Next is the food guide, with a total of 29 dishes. Some look delicious, some... and the volume and page number of their first appearance in the manga are clearly marked. Finally, a search index for the characters and the food guide is included.

The characters and food settings only take up the first half of the book, while the second half includes several short comics, including some previously released bonus content from collected volumes, as well as short stories specially drawn by the author. Some of these are printed in a small amount of color—(it feels like looking at the original manuscript, which is great).

Interspersed among the short comics are color pages, which could be considered character posters with a unique printing style (?), very mysterious, and in line with the author's usual style of creating surprises. 😍

I also highly recommend the author Hayashida Kyu's substantial and heartfelt art collection, "..."Doraemon Art Book: MUD AND SLUDGEThis is a must-have book in terms of binding, printing, and artwork!

In comparison, this art book has more text, and I really hope there will be an opportunity to publish a Chinese version.

About the Author

Hayashida Q

A Japanese manga artist born in 1977. He graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts.

He debuted in 1997 with the TV series "Sofa Sauce," for which he won second place at the Four Seasons Awards. His drawing style is characterized by its boldness yet delicacy. He pays close attention to the depiction of the human body, backgrounds, and character details. His distinctive style features many muscular men and women sketched with pencil without erasing, boldly applying colored sketches without regard for omissions or impurities.

While many of the descriptions are bizarre, such as intense fights with flying blood, gore, and entrails, there are also many endearing and humorous depictions of everyday life, all mixed together to create a unique atmosphere. In an interview with the author of the first issue of *Quarterly S* (Style / Asuka Shinsha), he stated that he was deeply influenced by shonen manga works such as *Weekly Shonen Jump*.
