"Moving Landscapes on Paper" is a picture book by Taiwanese illustrator Deng Yu, published by Da Kuai Culture in 2014.

The entire book focuses on the theme of "mobile vendors" throughout Taiwan, presenting them with unique images and delicate text. It includes a total of 60 different "mobile landscapes," arranged into four chapters based on the type of vendor vehicle: Manual Mountain and River, Walking on the Sun and Moon, Machine Turning the Earth, and Rotating Through the Seasons.

From delicious scallion pancakes, wheel cakes, grilled sausages, stinky tofu, and pig's blood cake, to everyday groceries and hardware services, each page evokes the tastes, sounds, and warmth of Taiwanese people's memories.❣

Each illustration is accompanied by a brief text description, capturing the everyday life and vitality of Taiwan through careful observation, transforming it into this exquisite and lovely collection of illustrated works.

The book's design has many highlights, using bright yellow and black as the main visual colors. The cover is made of Dajia rural paper, giving it a warm and nostalgic feel. A delightful surprise is the cover's back cover, which is covered in Shiba Inu totems! 🐕 And there are postcard inserts at the end of the book, which can be removed for collection or use.

Official Introduction

Life is a journey without end, and we are all part of each other's scenery.
Dedicated to those who strive to live and work diligently.
Their labor is an indispensable necessity for the operation of the city.

This is illustrator Deng Yu's observation of Taiwan. Through a series of paintings, he faithfully records the most memorable old Taiwanese life and small corners in a rapidly changing era.

The initial observation actually started with the turning wheels. Taiwan is a mobile country where people come from all directions and move quickly for a living. A group of people choose to put their dreams on wheels, reinterpreting ordinary means of transportation in a completely new way. A car is an entire shop. They are responsible for bridging the gap between urban and rural areas, repairing the deficiencies in life, and selling instant convenience. Their work involves not only trading goods but also emotions.

Deng Yu chose to meticulously depict the daily lives of the workers through sixty memorable moving landscapes, using the power of images to showcase the beauty of life on this island and to pay tribute to the hardworking workers.

Illustrator Deng Yu's first major publication is eagerly anticipated by her 10,000 Facebook fans.
The classic design book cover is reversible, and a commemorative postcard is included with the book.
Record life's memories on paper as a record, and preserve the scenery of the present moment.
A collection of images and texts documenting the daily lives of mobile workers on paper, worthy of being preserved forever.
