Atelier for the Magic Hat (とんがり帽のアトリエ) is a fantasy manga series by Omo Shirahama that began serialization in 2016. The story follows Coco, a girl who dreams of magic, who, after accidentally coming into contact with the magical world, becomes the apprentice of the magician Chifley and embarks on a journey of learning magic and adventure.

The work is beloved by many readers for its delicate and exquisite art style, fantastical worldview, and unique magic settings; from its manga serialization to its anime adaptation in 2026, it has introduced this creatively rich world to a wider audience. 📚🔮🚪

This unboxing of "The Studio of the Magic Hat" includes over 170 color and black-and-white illustrations created over the ten years of the series' serialization, including manga covers, magazine illustrations, and special illustrations drawn at important milestones in the series.

The art book was originally published in France in 2025 as the French edition "L'Art des Sorciers", followed by a Japanese edition the following year. The two editions contain the same content, but the cover designs are different, so readers who like to collect different editions will pay special attention to this difference.

Shirahama Ou's artwork is incredibly detailed, from the characters, clothing, magic circles, and architecture to the smallest elements in the background. I often pause to appreciate it while reading her comics!

I've been following "Atelier Magic Hat" since the early volumes of the manga, collecting them and following the story all the way to now, so I was really happy when I received the art book! 😍

Latest artbook from "The Magic Hat Studio"

The Japanese edition of *L'Art DES Sorciers*, originally published by the French publisher PIKA in 2025, has finally been released! The Japanese edition features a completely new cover design, different from the French version, and boasts a large-format hardcover, containing over 170 original color and monochrome illustrations from the ten-year run of *Atelier Magica*. This book includes valuable related illustrations, including a clean cover with the title removed, various character illustrations from the serialization period, and illustrations specially created to celebrate milestones in the series. Since its serialization began in 2016, it has won numerous awards, and its worldwide sales have now exceeded 7.5 million copies. As we await the long-awaited anime adaptation (premiering in Japan on April 6, 2026), let us revisit this legendary creative journey through this magnificent visual art!

After graduating from the Department of Design at Tokyo University of the Arts, she worked as a freelance illustrator and manga artist.
