This art book is designed with a bare spine binding, so it can be laid out very flat.
The cover is made of textured paper, with the title text on the front partially foiled in green and the back in silver. The endpapers are made of stiff, light green cardboard, and the signature on the signed copy is cleverly hidden inside the folded pages (it's almost invisible unless you look very closely). A 48-page saddle-stitched booklet of line drawings is included with the book.
Just flipping through a few pictures is enough to amaze you; these delicate and exquisite elements can be hand-painted with watercolors.
The colors stand out even more against the white background; I really like them!
The included works range from realistic to fairytale-like, each with its own unique flavor.
About one-third of the book consists of three watercolor painting tutorials, covering "figures," "scenes," and "small elements."
I especially like Mu Nan's antique illustrations and a series of works of animals & elves!
