About the Author

Jimmy Liao

Jimmy Liao is a picture book author. A native of Yilan, he now lives in Taipei with his family and cats. He loves drawing, studied fine arts in college, and worked at an advertising company after graduation. His love for illustration led him to extensively study various illustrations and picture books to learn on his own. Jimmy Liao felt that picture books were wonderful and shouldn't be limited to children's literature, so he began creating picture books for readers of all ages, thus creating a new genre of picture books for adults.

For over two decades, Jimmy Liao has published picture books, creating more than sixty works. His works have been translated into twenty foreign languages, with nearly two hundred different books published worldwide. His picture books have been adapted into musicals, television dramas, films, animations, and VR interactive works. There are numerous Jimmy Liao-themed land art installations and parks in Taipei, Yilan, and Tainan. He has also been invited to participate in the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale and the Northern Alps Art Triennale in Japan. His latest public art installations are located along the Green Mountain Line of the Tamsui Light Rail. Jimmy Liao's works have won significant awards in Taiwan, mainland China, Hong Kong, Belgium, Spain, Sweden, and Portugal.

Besides picture books, Jimmy Liao also tries other forms of artistic creation. Being able to create and talk to readers through his creations is what makes Jimmy Liao happiest.
