A small, A5-sized art book published by PIE International, featuring monster-themed artwork by 30 illustrators.

The inspiration comes from the works of Toriyama Sekien, a famous ukiyo-e artist from the Edo period. The book also includes illustrations of original yokai (Japanese spirit) scrolls such as *Gazu Hyakki Yagyō*, *Konjaku Gazu Zoku Hyakki*, *Konjaku Hyakki Shūi*, and *Hyakki Tsurezure Bukuro*, which are quite interesting for comparison.

The cover features gold foil lettering and an artwork by Izumi, depicting Enra. Inside the cover is a beautiful line drawing.

The collected works are generally good. If you are familiar with Japanese yokai culture, you should have heard of these specific yokai species (?). Each work is accompanied by a short text introduction of the yokai, and most of the illustrations are double-page spreads (which can be a bit awkward).

The latter part of the art book includes the line drawings of each artwork and the creator's written explanation!

This "Illustrated Collection of One Hundred Demons' Night Parade Fan Art" is inspired by the "Illustrated One Hundred Demons' Night Parade" by Edo-period illustrator Toriyama Sekien. It presents the demons and monsters of ancient Japanese legends as beautiful young men, blending the eerie and the bizarre with a touch of glamour, and exuding a charming and eccentric aura. Each artwork is full of unique appeal. The 30 exquisite colored illustrations are the work of 30 popular artists, including Harukawa35, Izumi, KAZUKIYONE, NINAKO, Sata, MW, Yamada SHIRO, and many others. They generously shared their uncolored line art and creative ideas, bringing a modern version of the One Hundred Demons' Night Parade scroll to the public.
