"Emergence" is the first personal art book by Japanese illustrator "Gawako," published by Genkosha in October 2023. The art book contains 144 pages and about 120 illustrations, bringing together most of the author's original and commercial artwork since her debut.

The cover text features a silver foil iridescent effect, and the cover illustration beautifully showcases the post-apocalyptic girl style often seen in the author's works.

The book begins with a collection of about 10 newly drawn works from the "IOLITE" series; some works in the book also include black and white line drawings.

The themes are mostly young girls with scenes that evoke a mysterious, dreamlike, or apocalyptic atmosphere. Many works also feature elements such as witches, angels, and pure white. The beautiful, uniquely styled pieces are particularly impressive, especially the bold lines and the interplay of light and shadow!

The book concludes with a sharing of the creation process of the artwork "Needle," along with a 4-page interview with the author.
