"Divine Gate" was a card-based action RPG mobile game released in 2013, which ceased operation at the end of 2018.

Although I've never played the game, I ended up collecting this official character design book by chance, and the thick and wonderful character visuals are truly impressive!

The overall design is quite high-end, with a hard-shell storage box containing two art books, one thick and one thin.

I initially thought an art book would consist largely of descriptions and design drafts from the game, but this rather thick book is almost entirely filled with character illustrations, featuring over 500 original characters from the game! Even if you haven't played the game, it's definitely worth collecting as an art book. 🎮

The table of contents is indexed by the Japanese syllabary (あ、い、う…).

The other, thinner book mainly covers the game's world-building, introductions to the main characters and other characters, glossary, interviews, and short stories. At the end is a three-fold pull-out page featuring the cover illustration; the other side of the pull-out page displays a diagram illustrating the relationships between all the characters.

This volume also includes valuable interview transcripts with Kota Takano, and concludes with a special original short story by Takano: Arthur and Santa Claus's Childhood.
