Oshio, a popular Japanese manga artist and illustrator whose manga was recently adapted into an anime, will hold "Beyond the Sea｜Oshio's First Solo Exhibition in Taiwan" at d/art Gallery in Ximending, Taipei, from May 18 (Sat) to June 16 (Sun), 2024!
Oshio Oshio is active in various creative fields, including manga, illustration, and character design. She has created world-renowned Vtuber characters and showcased her powerful and emotionally resonant drawing skills in the "100 Illustrators Exhibition" with her work "The Crying Faces of Girls." Her first solo collection of works, released in 2023, is titled "..."青の日々Not only does it include Oshio's commercial artwork, but it also presents her unique original works in the azure blue color scheme.
"Beyond the Sea" is an exhibition title that uses the English translation of the word "ultramarine," a rare deep blue pigment used in traditional painting, to symbolize the blue charm that Oshio is most famous for.
"Beyond the Sea｜おしおしおTaiwan's first solo exhibition" is expected to display original works selected by おしおしお, March 2024 Yue has just announced the animated comic work "しかのこのこのここしたんたん" cover illustrations, illustrations of virtual idols Hatsune Miku and Yuki Miku, Vtuber paintings of Amane Kanata and Sora Hoshi Sora, as well as several light novel cover illustrations and commercial works.
Oshio has specially designed a brand-new main visual for her first solo exhibition in Taiwan. She will also be visiting Taiwan on June 8th (Saturday) for an autograph session and talk show. The exhibition area will not be open to the public at that time. Several of her collectible paintings, exhibition catalogs and merchandise, as well as a limited selection of Japanese-edition items will be available for Oshio fans to purchase.
▍About the Author
おしおしお/ Oshioshio
A graduate of an art university, she worked for a year before quitting to participate in doujinshi (fan-made comics) conventions. She debuted as a manga artist in 2014, publishing her first manga, and subsequently created illustrations for light novel covers, games, virtual idols, and Vtuber character designs and artwork. In 2023, she released her first collection of works.青の日々", in March 2024, the comic work "しかのこのこのここしたんたん" was announced to be adapted into animation.
