The first season of Attack on Titan anime released a total of 5 art books. This is the first volume, which includes the artwork for episodes 1-3, as well as the PV and ED.

(Looking back at that first season where I knew nothing 🤣)

The first four images are promotional color illustrations compared to the original artwork; the rest are mainly line drawings of the original artwork. You can see many details in the drawing of classic scenes from the original artwork!

(ED Mikasa's close-up takes up 16 pages XD)

The book concludes with an interview with chief animation director Kyoji Asano.

Official Introduction

Attack! The First Original Artbook

With over 22 million copies of its manga collected volumes sold, the anime "Attack on Titan," a unique supernatural series, has created a massive sensation in Japan and Taiwan. Besides its incredibly high viewership ratings, it's been a major topic of discussion on various social media platforms, making it arguably the most representative anime of 2013. It's still airing and is scheduled to run until the end of September, but the first volume of the TV anime's original art book will be released soon!

This art book, personally selected by character designer and chief animation director Kyoji Asano, includes original drawings from episodes 1-3 of the TV anime "Attack on Titan," as well as promotional videos and the ending theme animation. It contains a total of 152 pages. Through the hands of the animators, you can savor the terror of the approaching Titans and the foundations upon which the characters were brought to life.

The cover features a newly drawn original illustration, along with several original drafts of key scenes and illustrations for the magazine. Director Araki will re-examine the original drafts from a new perspective in this "art book," discussing his thoughts at the time of production. Character designer and chief animation director Kyoji Asano will share behind-the-scenes stories about the production of the "Attack on Titan" anime, revealing various aspects of the animator's profession. Not only "Attack on Titan" fans, but also anyone aspiring to be an animator shouldn't miss this!
