This unboxing is of Japanese illustrator Aotbeni's personal art book, "PLUS Aotbeni Art Book & Fashion Makeup Illustration Techniques," which was published in Traditional Chinese by Beixing Publishing House in Taiwan in September 2023 (the Japanese version was published at the end of 2022).

Excitingly, an event will be held at the Ximen d/art Gallery from November 11th to December 10th, 2023.Midas touch｜Qing Shi Hong Taiwan First Solo ExhibitionThe exhibition features nearly 100 carefully selected paintings.

I really like the gold foil design on the cover. Besides the title, it's also used to highlight small details: the small print on the eyeliner, the eyelash embellishments, and a lipstick swatch on my forearm. 💄

The illustrations in the book cover a variety of styles of women's clothing and makeup! Cute, sexy, dark, mature, refreshing... many poses and close-ups look like they're of print advertising models (endorsing clothes, lipsticks, etc. XD).

Although the title mentions "Fashion Makeup Illustration Techniques," only about four pages are dedicated to the process of applying makeup to the girls in the illustrations, showing both "Before" and "After" on the same page. The rest of the book is almost entirely filled with large images—a substantial collection!

The last section includes the process of creating the cover illustration, an interview with the author, and an index with explanations of the works, totaling 10 pages.

I had a blast looking at all the beautiful and fashionable clothes and accessories! 👗

Official Introduction

PLUS is a word I really like, and it even became the title of this book. Fashion, makeup, daydreaming, laughter, tears, shyness, experiencing things you love, and then falling in love with and becoming obsessed with them—I feel that all of these are "PLUS" for me. I feel that these are all very important things in life. Even if you didn't have them before, even if they've disappeared, if there are shortcomings, you can simply enrich them.

For me, who holds this belief, the most important "PLUS" is "drawing." It's about achieving my own goals, fulfilling my desires, aspirations, ideals, and reality. As long as I draw, as long as I possess the skills, everything will be possible, and my emotions will have a foundation. Although I am alone, my world contains many characters, and it is these characters that constitute the story of "PLUS." The emotions you experience when appreciating my work are, to me, "PLUS."

I hope I can become a "PLUS" for all my readers, and that my artwork can touch your heart. Any message you receive will become my motivation, propelling me forward once again. From now on, I hope to continue creating worlds filled with many "PLUS" elements.
