Resonant Worlds — Masumi Yamamoto Solo Exhibition
After a hiatus of more than two years, popular Japanese artist Masumi Yamamoto is exhibiting at the Neptune Gallery again. This is Yamamoto's second solo exhibition.
Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1985, Yamamoto graduated from the Japanese Painting Department of Kyoto University of Art and Design. Using Japanese painting as her medium, her works often feature children, symbolizing the initial innocence and inner divinity of life. Yamamoto focuses on the unique characteristics and shared experiences of different cultures, frequently depicting children in traditional costumes to represent cultural differences and interactive understanding, portraying the resonance and spiritual connection between lives. She combines traditional Japanese painting techniques with a modern perspective to create delicate and gentle images. Her works simultaneously showcase the beauty of cross-cultural understanding and the coexistence of life.
The exhibition will be held at Neptune Gallery from November 15 to December 14, 2025, with an opening tea party on November 16 (Sunday) at 3 pm. The artist himself will be present and cordially invites you to join him.

Newborn children possess the purest soul and nature.
They came into this world carrying light.
In my eyes, children symbolize inner divinity and the essence of life.
All life on Earth influences and supports one another.
We are shaped by the existence of others.
It also becomes a part of other people's lives.
The children in the artwork are dressed in clothing from different cultural backgrounds.
It symbolizes the differences, understanding, and resonance between people.
Even with different cultures, we can still recognize, coexist, and empathize with each other.
This is the gentle power I hope to convey.
"Hibiki Ao Sekai" depicts the resonance of life and the dialogue of the soul.
In the tranquil scene, hearts resonate with each other.
The world resonates gently because of this.

▍About the Author
Yamamoto Masumi
Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1985, Masumi Yamamoto graduated from the Art Department of Gifu Prefectural Kano High School in 2004 and from the Department of Fine Arts and Crafts at Kyoto University of Art and Design in 2010. She frequently uses children and roosters as subjects in her paintings; children represent the existence between humans and gods, while roosters represent elements from Japanese mythology. Inspired by unique religious concepts, aesthetic styles, traditional clothing, and even original elements discovered around the world, the artist aspires to depict those mysterious and beautiful people through a perspective cultivated in modern life.
