It is rare to see a publication with such a special specification, and it may be mistaken for a board game XD (it is indeed very interesting)

The appearance of the box is written such as "clean and comfortable, friendly service", "station pick-up", "one parking and two meals", and "welcome to make an appointment for check-in", which makes people wonder what they are selling~

Become a novelist looking for inspiration and stay in this "Sifangkan" where various characters live together.

As soon as you open the box, you will be greeted by the hotel's occupancy rules. The black and white checkerboard-style lattice Zuo Taisho period objects are very fu~

Then look down and see the floor plan of the house.

The current location is on the second floor of a three-room hotel. In addition to the eye-catching booklets between the sea, the forest and the flower, the corridors and stairs are also separate books!

Don't worry about messing it up, the bottom plate has the location of the floor plan, and you can also enjoy the fun of jigsaw puzzles (?

As the protagonist, knock on the door of every room and listen to everyone's dreams. The perspective of watching the tenant open the door is really immersive XD

In addition to the story content, I also really like the two-color presentation of each booklet and the different furnishings of the room floor plan!

The second floor is lifted along the small gap next to the bottom plate of the second floor, and the first floor is below, including the protagonist's (me) room, the dining hall, and the blocks from the entrance to the stairs and corridors.

"Between the Mountains" is different from other booklets. As the protagonist's room, it is designed to present the contents of the collected notes, and various materials and essays are posted.

Further down is the elevated basement of the mysterious area (?)

A very special experiential reading experience, there is no certain reading order, but the contents of the booklets can be referred to each other, and it is fun to play RPG games. (It should also be interesting if you add some props or puzzle-solving settings)

This kind of reading experience that must be flipped through in person is beyond the reach of e-books!

If you look at the price level of doujin/independent publishing, it will feel very cheap, and there are so many brochures in different shapes~

It is highly recommended to actually buy a copy (box) to experience (play) and see!

What I want to mention is that due to a small flaw in the alignment of the corridor on the first floor, Black & White Culture Publishing took the initiative to ask readers to fill in the form and send the reprint booklet directly. I feel that the publishing house is very sincere!

Official Introduction

In order to find inspiration for a new novel, the editor suggested that "I" take a short vacation first, change my mood, and let me live in a hotel near the sea, "Sifangkan", and interview the guests in the hotel. So during these days of staying at the Sifang Hotel, I knocked on the doors of the tenants and chatted with them. The three tenants and the owner of the Sifang Hotel each told me a dream about themselves...

【Between the sea】

Artists who travel around will always stay at the Sifang Pavilion when their journey comes to an end, and stay there for a long time until the next journey. Because it is a frequent visitor, the boss always arranges the Sifang Pavilion to see the sea between the seas.

【Between the forests】

Every quarter, the accountant of the firm needs to be ordered by the master to go to each branch to confirm the general ledger and transaction status of the current season. He is easy-going and has no particular preference for rooms, but after a few visits, the owner of the Sifang Hotel gradually seized the opportunity for him to come here for business, and he would reserve Lin Jian to wait for him to check in.

【Between the flowers】

The handyman boy was more like a sojourner in the Sifang Pavilion than a regular visitor to the Sifang Pavilion. With no fixed address and no relatives, he works errands all over the town. When he has no job, he stays in Sifangguan, occasionally helping the boss.

【canteen】

The owner of the Sifang Pavilion is a young man who cannot tell his age. The personality of being good at grasping the distance of interpersonal interaction makes Sifang Hall attract all kinds of interesting guests, and it is also one of the reasons why the editor recommends "I" to stay here.

【Between the mountains】

The room where "I" stayed. There are material notes, including transcripts, photos, things the tenants gave me...etc.

This work is divided into 4+1 chapters according to the four rooms in the hotel and the hotel cafeteria. The first four chapters are the content of "I" interviewing the tenants and the boss, that is, the dreams shared by each tenant; the interviews are presented in the first person. The situation in which the author speaks to "I" - both the author of the story and the reader of this work. The last one is "I"'s material notes, which simulate real notes in form, and closely deduct the writing, recording, and material collection of the four stories.

Book features

This is a collection of short comics with a slightly retro background. In addition to using dreams as packaging to lead readers into incredible stories in terms of content, it also tries to challenge readers' reading experience in form. The entire work packaging symbolizes this hotel that gathers various characters. In the room, opening the book is opening the door to the story.
