Korean illustrator gomzi, known for her dreamy and transparent girl illustrations created with flowers, butterflies, and soft light and shadow, is returning to Taiwan after a three-year hiatus! This time, she is bringing her first art book, "Ethereal," to celebrate her 10th anniversary of creating art. The exhibition, titled "Ethereal｜gomzi Art Book Publication Commemorative Exhibition," will be held at d/art from July 11 (Sat) to August 9 (Sun), 2026.
Since her student days, gomzi has consistently drawn original characters "Rin" and "Yuuna," as well as the vampire sisters "VIVI" and "MIHO," with the theme of "pure and beautiful girls." Starting as an illustrator, she has participated in various commercial activities, such as character design for ReGLOSS member "Otonase Kanade" and "Utahime Dream" member "Mashiro Kiyomi," as well as novel cover illustrations, game and music video production.
gomzi, a rapidly rising and popular illustrator in Japan, held her first solo exhibition at Gallery ecrii in Shibuya, Tokyo in 2022. Her work was featured extensively in the well-known Japanese art magazine "Quarterly E's" vol.79, and she also served as the cover illustration for the issue's "Fairy Girl" theme. The following year, she held "Flawless｜gomzi Taiwan First Solo Exhibition" at d/art, showcasing nearly 70 selected paintings and a Taiwan-exclusive key visual, bringing the Korean illustration trend to Taiwan.
The "Ethereal | gomzi Art Book Publication Commemorative Exhibition" will showcase over 80 paintings. Several collectible reproductions and signed artworks, along with exhibition merchandise, will be available for purchase by fans of gomzi's work. A photo opportunity will also be offered, with a chance to win a limited-edition postcard – while supplies last.
