其實猶豫了要不要開箱這本，因緣際會拿到，但並不是我平常會收的類型 XD
這本是精裝本，封面書名還有燙金跟凸起。整體的泛黃舊書設計風格蠻用心，斑駁邊角的底圖是有變化的，以及夾雜筆記小紙片與手寫文字、手繪感。

對於收錄內容題材並沒有到非常熟悉，不過電影《奇幻精靈事件簿》（The Spiderwick Chronicles）就有涵蓋許多脈絡。Arthur Spiderwick（亞瑟．史派德威）窮其一生將這些真實存在人類世界，卻沒有被世人看到的「生物」們，紀錄在他的書中。
如果牠們真實存在，不知道自己能否接受？有些生物的樣貌在真實世界看到根本看一次嚇一次 XD 不過倒是蠻喜歡電影中花精靈（sprites）被塑造出來的模樣。至少我是相信這世上還有許多人類未探索的事物，以及許多人類用既有眼光自以為通曉全局的事情。

書中的文字（英文）不少，大約是一頁圖、一頁文字的篇幅。當中也穿插著好幾幅拉頁設計，而且開啟的方式略有不同（向上、向兩側）。果然印象最深刻的還是封面這頭獅鷲～
